Real Estate Conversations with Brenda: Some Gave All-Memorial Day is to Remember Those Who Did

Some Gave All-Memorial Day is to Remember Those Who Did

Some Gave All-Memorial Day is to Remember Those Who Did

I posted this a year ago and I thought it still appropriate.

Many of you know that I spent 21 years in the Army and am a retired Army Medic.  My husband continues to serve and is currently going to school to become a Physician's Assistant.  We both served in OIF 1 back when the war kicked off and my husband also went again to OIF 3.  Most likely he will return overseas when he is a full PA as, although the war is over, there is still much to be done.  Being in the medical field allowed us both to see first hand and treat many of those who were wounded in the war.  Additionally we had the honor of knowing some of the fallen Soldiers from this war.  Since the wars began in both Iraq and Afghanistan over 30,000 Soldiers, Airmen and Marines have been wounded and there have been over 4,000 deaths.

Memorial Day is hailed to be the beginning of summer and many will get together to spend time with family and perhaps BBQ, but it is ultimately a day to give thanks and pay tribute to those who have fallen.  While you are enjoying the day, please take a moment to remember those who Gave All.

Thank you

Brenda thank you to you and your husband for your years of service.  I spent four years in the Navy during the Vietnam War, and today I find my mind thinking about those that served with me.

Brenda, This is my first comment to your post, and I didn't know you were a Medic, or your husband was still serving.  First, thank you and your husband for your service.

And yes, all we, the beneficiaries, can do is honor and pay tribute to those who have paid the ultimate price for their country.

Hi Lloyd-Well, I guess I can forgive you for not knowing  I was an Army medic and that my husband still serves since this is your first visit :).  Thank you for stopping by and commenting!

Glad I stopped by too Brenda to find out your past service. Thank you! Blessings to both you and your husband for what you do. A very good friend is a retired Army Colonel and he still volunteers to help military families. He, as all of you veterans, are amazing.

Hi Brenda...Nice tribute, I'm, sure many will relate to your service to your country and the separation between you and your husband. My Parents spent time apart during the 2nd World War. My generation in Canada has been lucky to not have had go to war, I do appreciate all those who serve their country so we can all live in a Free world.

Thinking of you and the many that serve and those that have paid the ultimate price with their ives for us all
